The King's Speech (2010)

Colin Firth (Actor), Helena Bonham Carter (Actor), Tom Hooper (Director) | Rated: R | Format: DVD

This movie is extremely amazing that I knew all along the this picture was going to won the Best Picture Oscar with Best Actor for Colin Firth, Best Original Screenplay for David Seidler and Best Director for Tom Hooper. I have to see yet but planning to see British history unfold in this small $15 million budget production becoming such a $244 million dollar blockbuster hit. This was the year that The Weinstein’s have a Best Picture Oscar winner with great performances aside from Colin Firth, Geoffery Rush, Helena Bonham Carter, Guy Pearce, Michael Gambon, Timothy Spall and others in this now- not forgoting new classic that people will be talking about for generations that The King's Speech defeated The Social Network for Best Picture and Director at the Oscars. Don't Miss out see either in your local theatre near you or wait for the blu-ray and DVD release.

Product Description

After the death of his father King George V (Michael Gambon) and the scandalous abdication of King Edward VIII (Guy Pearce), Bertie (Colin Firth) who has suffered from a debilitating speech impediment all his life, is suddenly crowned King George VI of England. With his country on the brink of war and in desperate need of a leader, his wife, Elizabeth (Helena Bonham Carter), the future Queen Mother, arranges for her husband to see an eccentric speech therapist, Lionel Logue (Geoffrey Rush). After a rough start, the two delve into an unorthodox course of treatment and eventually form an unbreakable bond. With the support of Logue, his family, his government and Winston Churchill (Timothy Spall), the King will overcome his stammer and deliver a radio-address that inspires his people and unites them in battle. Based on the true story of King George VI, THE KING'S SPEECH follows the Royal Monarch's quest to find his voice.

Excellent and highly recommended.

Casino Royale [Blu-ray]

Before Casino Royale, Sean Connery was the only Bond in my mind. That has all changed. When Daniel Craig walked on the screen...my love for Bond movies returned. And Vesper's character was so well played! Tender and strong.

This movie was so well shot and the plot line was and is AMAZING! And I am sure that with any opinion of a movie, everyone may not agree with me.

I saw this in the theater, and then purchased it for my husband on DVD. He loves the extended content!

If you could only purchase one Bond film, this would be my choice by far!

Sony HT-SS2300 Blu-ray Disc™ Matching Component Home Theater System

This really is a great HTIB, especially if you do not want the dvd player the majority of them include and you want a smaller profile receiver. I'm not going to repeat what everyone else says - you know what this can do. I have mine in a medium sized room and it is more than plenty loud and bassy.

Everything works fantastic except it occasionally will not hdmi handshake properly w/ the PS3, causing the PS3's colors to be off. If anyone else has experienced this issue, let me know!!!

Overall it is a great system that I can highly recommend.

VIZIO Gallevia 42-inch LCD HDTV 1080p GV42LF

Excellent picture and value, highly recommended
When I bought this TV over a year ago, I was amazed at the picture vs. several other brands. At the store, it was right next to a Bravia which was $800 more. The picture on the Bravia was a little better, and I mean only a little. Certainly not $800 better. I purchased the Vizio since it was my first flat-panel tv and I didn't want to break the bank.
